What’s the best time of year to visit Alberobello?

I loved visiting in late spring or early fall when the weather was perfect for walking around those stone streets. Summer gets very hot and crowded with tour buses, while winter can be quiet but some restaurants close. During my May visit, everything was open, the weather was warm but comfortable, and I could enjoy outdoor dining without sweating. September is also great because you get that beautiful golden light on the white trulli walls.

Can I walk everywhere in Alberobello or do I need a car?

Walking works perfectly for exploring Alberobello itself since the whole trulli area is quite small. I walked everywhere during my stay and never felt like I needed transport within the town. However, if you want to visit nearby places like Locorotondo, Martina Franca, or the countryside farms, having a car makes life much easier. The local buses exist but don’t run very frequently, so I’d recommend renting a car if you plan to explore beyond Alberobello.
